Hand Percussion and Community Composition for Kids at Washington Square Park
This summer, elementary school children aged 5 – 12 years are invited to Washington Square Park for a weekly hand percussion and community composition workshop. Â
In these 45-minute classes, elementary school children will learn rhythm skills and develop an understanding of how to work creatively to make new music with other children in their peer group. Students will be exposed to various rhythms from around the world and make songs about different themes with their peers while building key social emotional skills.Â
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A DROP-INÂ PROGRAM. PRIOR REGISTRATION IS NOT NECESSARY.
This program is hosted and created in partnership with the Washington Square Park Conservancy.
