Alex Dine

Alexandra Dine is a St. Louis-born, New York City-based teacher, poet and pianist. With 17 years experience teaching all ages, she aims to hone natural curiosity and exploration, giving the student space to be themselves while she guides them down their creative path. Alex grew up attending the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., where she was certified to teach classical piano. After moving to New York, she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from NYU, and began her teaching career in 2016 at Tribeca's Church Street School for Music & Art— where she is thrilled to return now in 2024, after a five-year stint at the downtown private Reggio Emilia preschool, Educational Alliance.

Inspired by her profession’s lyrical sheen (children are natural poets), she curates and hosts the monthly reading series known as “The Space Between”, a celebration of New York City poetry and performance art. Alex’s history as both a visual art teacher and a Dalcroze Eurythmics music teacher informs her teaching as she binds learning to experiencing.
