Robbie Lee is a pianist, vocalist, composer/arranger, and educator based in Manhattan, NY. Graduating from the Manhattan School Of Music with his Bachelor’s in Jazz Piano Performance, Robbie also holds an Artist Diploma Degree from The Juilliard School.Â
As a performer, he currently freelances as a vocalist/pianist in the New York metropolitan area. Robbie has had the opportunity to perform with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, Candido Camero, Charles McPherson, Ray Drummond, and Brice Winston. He has played in numerous jazz festivals across the globe including the Monterey Jazz Festival, The Umbria Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and the Bern Jazz Festival. He has been given awards in performance and composition from Downbeat Magazine, Youngarts, the Essentially Ellington Festival and Competition, and the Next Generation Jazz Festival.
As an educator, Robbie has a number of students in his own private studio teaching various skill levels and styles. He believes each student is special and has unique interests and goals that are meant to be fostered and explored. Through his experience and knowledge Robbie seeks to find each student’s personal love of music through playing, listening, and making sure that having fun is at the forefront of each lesson.Â
