Wilson Montuori is a versatile guitarist and teacher who has mastered styles ranging from pop/rock, world music, and jazz to classical styles. The very first guitar teacher in Church Street School’s history, Wilson is known for letting students explore the music they enjoy while also giving them a solid musical foundation. In addition to guitar, Wilson teaches music theory, ukulele, and bass. Wilson has coached his students to successfully prepare for music auditions and theory examinations at top schools in New York City and London. Wilson has also recorded for many labels, including Universal Records, Sony Music, and Def Japan. He also performs throughout the world with various musical ensembles. Wilson holds a degree in classical guitar from the Academia of Music in Florence, Italy, a BFA in jazz performance from City College, where he was honored as a valedictorian candidate, and a Masters in Music Education from Boston University. Wilson is also a working composer who introduced his first album titled “Viaggio” recently. His compositions can also be heard in the 2015 feature film “Shelter.”
