Music has taken Steve far and wide across the country and much of the world having performed and traveled to over 30 countries!
Born and raised in Minnesota, he has called New York City home for many years now, working as a talented guitarist, producer, composer/arranger, and working in the studio both as a performer and recording engineer.
Steve can be seen and heard performing with a variety of groups and artists in and around NYC, including performances with The Stingers, Funkytown Playground, The Halley DeVestern Band, Casey Brevis, Elle Winter, Josh Charles, Allison Scola, Vaya! and the acclaimed improvised comedy-musical Baby Wants Candy. Steve also co-wrote and produced the most recent album by acclaimed children’s music artists Hot Peas ‘N Butter. The album “Back to the Land” won a Parents Choice award and also featured special guest appearances by Dan Zanes, Laurie Berkner and Peter Yarrow (of Peter Paul and Mary).
When not preforming on the stage, Steve has also composed scores for short films and independent features; his music has also been heard on television shows featured across several networks including ABC, NBC, the CW, TLC and The Discovery Channel.
Steve holds a BFA from the University of Minnesota and has over 20 years of experience teaching guitar, bass, music theory and improvisation, ensembles and music technology.
