New York based pianist Simona Premazzi has developed an impressive body of work as a composer and improviser, leading her own groups as well as part of other artists` musical projects. Originally from Italy, Premazzi hails from a small town in the outskirts of Milano, where she began playing piano at age 9. Her debut album, “Looking For An Exit”, a trio with Ari Hoenig and Joe Sanders, is in the prestigious Jazz Hihyo magazine among the best trio albums between 2004 and 2008. Her very well acclaimed second album “Inside In” has been recorded with her project “The Intruders”, who has been described as “one of the more exciting and poignant groups on the current New York scene” [Gary Heimbauer – Jazz Inside magazine]. Her third CD “The Lucid Dreamer”, soon to be released for Inner Circle Music label, features her latest ensemble with tenor saxophonist Melissa Aldana, bassist Ameen Saleem, drummer Jochen Rueckert and special guest inimitable saxophonist Greg Osby.
