Tad McCully records, performs and teaches in New York City and throughout the tristate area, and on national and international stages. Most recently, Mr. McCully has joined Kellindo Parker’s band (guitarist with Janelle Monae) and performed in the debut of “Mr. Blue Sky: A Musical Tribute to the Electric Light Orchestra” (E.L.O.) at the Bitter End on June 20th in NYC. He is also a frequent orchestra pit drummer in musical theatre productions, including “Children of Eden,” “Aida,” and “Alienne” at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) during the last year, and in 2014, “Dreamgirls” and “Once Upon a Mattress” at Gallery Player’s Theatre. He also played for the hit-musical “Trouble,” featured at the 2014 NYMF Festival. In the last two years, Tad has also kept busy recording with Norman Zamcheck (including the CD “Matchbox Universe”) and on the soundtrack for a documentary about film maker Nicholas Ray (“Rebel Without A Cause”) entitled “Don’t Expect Too Much” which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. Its U.S. premier was at the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center in September, followed by showings at NYC’s Film Forum.

Tad has studied with drum legend Ricky Sebastian as well as at Philadelphia University of the Arts and Manhattan School of Music.
