Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ada Arumeh Jeon received her first piano lesson at age five, and within seven months won her first competition. By age eleven, she had won numerous state and national competitions and subsequently made a number of recital appearances in Chicago and her radio debut on WFMT 97.8. As an avid chamber and solo musician, she has performed extensively throughout the Midwest at venues such as the Grainger Ballroom at Symphony Center, Shakespeare Theatre at Navy Pier, Chicago Cultural Center, the Harris Theatre for Music and Dance and Bennett- Gordon Hall @ Ravinia. In addition to her busy performing schedule, Ada performs at countless community retirement homes and schools. In the past summers, she has given recitals at the Moulin d’Ande Académie Internationale in France, Tel-Hai International Masterclasses in Israel, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Bowdoin Music Festival. She has been an assistant in the Accompanying Department at the Eastman School of Music. Ada recently gave the world premiere of Sylvia, a contemporary one act opera, at BargeMusic in New York City. Ada received both Bachelor and Master degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Piano Performance and Literature. She currently resides in New York City where she is working as a freelance musician and music teacher.
